Our approach
3dknowhow.com is an educational website about 3D printing. We do not require accounts, ask visitors to create profiles, or operate our own database of personal visitor information. Our own site code does not set tracking cookies or save your search queries. The site search processes your query in your browser without sending it to a site search server.
This does not mean that visiting the website involves no data processing. Google services and the website’s hosting provider may process information as described below. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and message and may retain that correspondence to respond to you.
Google AdSense: advertising
The website includes Google AdSense to support the site through advertising. When an AdSense-enabled page loads, your browser may send Google the page address, IP address, browser and device information, and information about ad views or interactions. Google and its advertising partners may set or read cookies or similar identifiers.
Depending on your consent, location, Google account settings, and the advertising configuration, this information may be used to deliver and measure ads, limit repeated ads, prevent fraud, and personalize advertising. Turning off personalized ads does not necessarily stop all advertising-related data processing.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics: usage measurement, where enabled
Where Google Analytics is enabled, it measures how visitors use the site and provides website operators with usage reports. Depending on the settings and consent choices, this may include pages viewed, referring pages, visit times, engagement, browser and device characteristics, language, approximate location, and cookie-based identifiers. Optional measurement can also include scrolling, outbound link clicks, and file downloads.
Google Analytics 4 uses IP addresses during collection to derive approximate location, then discards them before logging the data; Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. Other Google services, including advertising services, have their own processing practices.
Read Google Analytics’ data-collection information, enhanced measurement documentation, and regional data collection information.
Cookies, storage, and your choices
Google may use cookies and similar technologies for advertising, analytics, security, and remembering preferences. The information collected depends on the services loaded, their configuration, your consent where applicable, and your browser or account settings. Google’s retention practices vary by service and settings; this site does not promise a single retention period for Google’s data.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser, manage personalized advertising through Google My Ad Center, and learn about the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on applies to supported browsers and does not disable AdSense. These controls are separate from any consent choices offered on the website.
See how Google uses cookies for details. Blocking cookies or turning off ad personalization may not prevent every request to Google.
Hosting and external services
Delivering website pages and videos requires the hosting provider to process technical requests. Its logs may include IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, and browser information for operation, security, or troubleshooting. Those logs are separate from the site’s own content and search features.
Links to other websites are governed by those websites’ privacy policies. Google may process information using infrastructure outside your country, as described in its Privacy Policy.
